A Good Read...Any Book Suggestions?

Hey my fellow blogger friends. I'm getting close to the school year ending & that means down time & more free time for me! Ever since I started college in 2004, when I came home during the summer, besides relaxing & catching up on sleep, I loved to go to the library & check out books. I love to read. now. Lol

I love to read books that I enjoy. Lately, I've been diving into business related books, as well as inspirational. You can check out my "My Book Shelf" tab to see what I'm currently reading or have read.

So I'm looking for suggestions. I'm trying to step outside the box. I use to read  a lot of African American love stories from Zane & Kimberla  Lawson-Roby who is one of my favorite authors. Now that I'm branching out into building a brand & a business the books I now read I have consumed me, and have me feeling like it's homework. No bueno...

Anywho, share any type of books that are your favorite & I'll check them out!

  1. I'm reading who moved my cheese, Best you ever and The power. Check out my blog for the authors.

  2. I'm about to start The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. I have heard many great things about it. I also have my summer reading list scheduled to post early this week too (like tomorrow or Tuesday), if you are interested in seeing that.

I used to have a bookshelf widget on my blog, but with the transition, it's gone. I'll have to find another way to share it.

    Happy Reading!

  4. I can really relate Ashley. I used to read Coldest Winter Ever etc. and then decided to explore my options. I heard good things about Mindy Kailings book from the Office and for inspirational Joel Osteen has a new book out. :) I'm your newest follower love the blog!!

  5. I've heard good things about that book. I'll have to check it out. Thanks @Erin

Thanks girly, I'll head over there now :) @Rose

Thanks Dre, I remember you having that I didn't see so I figured you took it down. Thanks heading over there soon.

Sweet! So I'm not alone lol. I'll check those out. I want to check out Joyce Meyer's books too. @Rachel

  6. I've read a few Zane books, but hadn't gotten around to Lawson who I've heard great things.

I will pretty much read anything that involves superb storytelling. Hmm. I'd recommend Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, Tayari Jones' books Leaving Atlanta and Silver Sparrow, anything Dan Brown, anything John Grisham, anything J. California Cooper, anything Walter Moseley.

A friend of mines recently recommended Bernice McFadden.

    1. Sheesh, you're going to have me reading quit a few books lol. Love it! Thank you.

  7. Btw - I've read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Addicted as well. I've been following Chopra on Twitter and really enjoy his thought process. Which reminds me - check out Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, an extremely good read.

    1. I just recently followed him as well. Very interesting tweets. I also heard many speak about The Alchemist. Thanks!

  8. Right now i'm reading "The Power Of Now". If you like insightful, borderline philosophical books, this is pretty good!
