The Mastery of Love...Practice Love!!!
If you read my blog post yesterday regarding love by Joyce Meyer's, then this piece (quote) from one of my favorite books The Mastery if Love may ring a bell....
"The only way to master love is to practice love. You don't need to justify your love, you don't need to explain your love, you just need to practice your love. Practice creates the master."

Increase Your Thankfulness...
Thankful people can worship wholeheartedly. Gratitude opens our hearts to God's peace and enables us to put on love. Discontented people constantly calculate what's wrong with their lot in life.
To increase your thankfulness, take an inventory of all you have (including your relationships, memories, abilities, and family, as well as material possessions).
Use the inventory for prayers of gratitude. On Sunday, before worship, quit rushing around; instead, take time to reflect on reasons for thanks. Declare Sunday as your "thanks, faith, & hope" day. Celebrate God's goodness to you, and ask in prayer for all your needs for the week ahead.
You can check out Joyce Meyer & her Bible plans on YouVersion via a smartphone app.

Random: Thank You...More Followers?
Hello beautiful people! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has left a comment, read my blog posts, & followed. When I started this blog the beginning of this year, I wasn't expecting people to follow nor find it interesting.
The purpose of me starting this blog at the time, was more so an outlet to vent about certain things. I never though anyone or more than one person could relate to what I blogged about here. It's crazy how a new year will be approaching us soon. My life has had its ups & downs this year. I never thought I would be where I am today this year. I'm in a better place & at peace with quit a few things. I have accomplished so much is what seems like in a short period of time. I'm super duper blessed. & I don't say this to brag because I'm nowhere near where I want to be, but I don't mind sharing what God has done for me.
I usually write what's on my mind here, and although I've been slacking on posting here like, I'm grateful for all of you. I love meeting new people and reading others blogs.
Anyways, that's it for right now. I have a few more updated/in-depth posts to share soon :)
Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving break/day & all that jazz :)

Random: A Woman...Is AMAZING
Being a woman...you have to show that you're better than the NORM...
You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't...
They want to make US feel like we're the issue...
We're difficult to understand....we're NOT human.
How so? When we're the ones birthing YOU.
What does that make YOU?
I'm sure your mom didn't raise a fool...
Yet you act like one...
You let go what is yours & get heated when you shouldn't have ever let it go.
They look at US like we're crazy?
Why?
Because we bleed for a few days? Or maybe even a whole week (SEVEN AWESOME DAYS)
Or maybe because we fight for what is right!?
Or because we fight for what we love...people we care about?
We work ourselves to death...losing ourselves, attached to someone ELSE along the way?
We cater to our dreams & aspirations...
But yet we're labeled stuck up...prissy
ALRIGHT, I'll take that.
Because why?
I'll let my work speak for itself...
My voice, a pen & paper wouldn't be able to tell you what we're capable of...
At the end of the day we leave you amazed...
& you'll never let her know how great of a woman she is...

Continue To Do Good: Speaks Volumes
"So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up."-Galatians 6:9
This scripture really touched me.
Because I started to think, "Why should I continue doing the right thing, treating people how I want to be treated, seeking out to help others?"
This tends to cross my mind every so often, but since my Down Time: Me time, it's been heavy on my heart. All the good I do, only for people to forget, overlook, or criticize it. As the scripture says "...At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up."
I believe this is true. I'm not going to lie, I do get tired of doing the right thing only to be forgotten, and things of that nature. All I can do it pray about it.

Update: Closing A Chapter & New Beginnings
Here's a little update on me...This week started off really rocky. Sunday night I was feeling so down, & all I could think about was my dad. How much I wish he was here. How much I wish I could take flowers to his mausoleum etc. The next morning I meditated and talked to God. I was so eager to find his obituary. & come to find out it, that Sunday was his death anniversary. Why isn't that something I know right off top you ask? I just don't. Like I mentioned in my last post, I am now able to deal with things I wasn't able to deal with 6+ years ago. Anyways, so I was glad I was able to confront that situation.
Affirmations: I need to start back on focusing on two positive affirmations about myself a week. I've been slacking because I haven't been writing them down.
Also, I'm coming to an end for Lent (Sunday). I'm super proud of myself. This journey has been something else. I won't share all of the details because it's between me & God. But it was an interesting experience indeed.
Random tweet: So I saw this tweet that one of my followers had retweeded that described a blog post I did called "Once You're Down, Aint Nobody Around"
The tweet was: "Fake friends are like shadows, always near you at your brightest moments, but nowhere to be seen at your darkest hour"
How about that?
On to Health: Looking into joining a 30 day challenge that I can do at home. I do well when participating in challenges, so I'm back on my work out grind.
I'll be starting a 6 month hair growth for my natural hair journey. Super duper excited about this. I've been natural/transitioning for 9 months. No perms for me! & no shade to those that use them. With this challenge, I'll be more on top of things when it comes to maintaining length and a regimen.

Testimony- Virtual Friends
I was just thinking the past few weeks, and reflecting on how far I've came from the damaged, and dark road. As I removed myself from certain things and people, I noticed there are great people on this earth still. But then I wonder why aren't they closer in region? From people on Youtube, Twitter, I have had the chance to build some sort of friendship with a few that have really restored my hope in friendship. I almost lost hope of that also.
A broken heart+ lack of REAL friends swallowed me up in a hole.
I wish those that I know through different social networks and sites were my REAL friends. The type you can hang with, talk to on the phone, call up whenever you feel like it. It's great to feel included, having blog chats, talking one on one. Just to have a bond with other intelligent ladies.
One time, I thought "Where did I go wrong?" What did I do?
I use to always have friends growing up. It started my junior year in HS when all of my friends turned their backs on me. They didn't have a reason to. What hurt the most is that without ME they wouldn't have known one another. I use to want a "Sorry", or anything acknowledging the pain I felt. Never got it. I mean it's been 5 years or so.
Long ago, I stopped waiting on something they were never going to give me. I forgive them. I truly do. It's funny because there's only a few of them that keep in touch till this day. But my junior and senior year in HS was so so so so bad for me. Dealing with that, grades, the death of my farther, & preparing for college was just a lot for me at the time.
At times, I don't know how I made it. I felt like that I wouldn't make it. God is amazing. Because so many thoughts clouded my mind, and here I am today April 5th 2011 college graduate, no kids, healthy, & a great mother by side. I'm blessed. I'm not where I want to be, but clearly where I need to be.
There have been quit a few times when I was down. I mean DOWN. God still managed to push me and kept me going. At times we think certain times in our lives is the end, we can't go on any longer, but God has a plan. We have to remember we don't make the rules. He has it all planned out. One thing I have to stop doing is thinking I have things under control, and stop planning things out. God has a plan for me. I'm not the author of this book, He is.
I'm going off tangent. But all in all, I'm finally in love with what I have & presented with. Those that aren't around, their lost. I'm no longer trying to rekindle friendships. That was the old me. The new me, could careless. It's about ME. Not to say I'm conceited or selfish, there's just certain bridges you just have to burn.

No Sugar Coating-Cleaning Out My Closet
I just need to release some negative energy and how I feel about this situation.
I don't care anymore...
I am no longer "cool" with those that call themselves my friends, but don't act on it. I am no longer keeping negative, non-reliable, sometimey people in my life. You either play your role to the best of your ability or not at all. Don't fake the funk.
It kills me when people have "positive change" in their lives, but they change for the worst. What's up with that? There's just individuals that I no longer have a desire to be "friends" with.
I'm upset yes. Because where were you when you DID not see me around anymore. Where were you when I started to fade away? Where were you when I needed you? With the different events that have occurred in my life, and people didn't show up and play their part, things are so much clearer to me now. And that's fine. We grow apart. Won't be a part of this life time though. If you see this, if you don't, its what-everrrrr.
As I said to my first love. I wish you nothing but the best. And I truly meant that. The same goes for EX-circle (old friends). It was nice while it lasted. It's just time to separate.

Be Gentle
You never know what someone maybe going through. We as people tend to judge when we know that's not our job. Or don't know what someone maybe going through. We don't have to walk on egg shells to please someone, but be kind.
Being gentle can mean being more understanding, open, and loving.
Selfless is the way to go. But can you get there?

Thank God
I'm glad I've chosen to take a break from quit a few things. With everything that's going on and has been going on it's much needed. Life can get you down and contemplating things. I know from all of this, I thank God for showing me the signs and not being blinded by what I've been faced with.
"Life lessons. Lessons learned"-Ashley N.
I live by this quote because it's so true. Life allows you to learn from different things in life. It seems like when you're down...you're down. At times I feel like I can't catch a break. I just pray that everything I'm going through has a purpose and I can look back on it (as I do many situations) and say it was worth it all.
Wait, I mean I know God has a purpose for this all. It's a test. A test of my love, strength, patience, and faith.

Day 17 - your high and lows of this year
I would have to say for one, this economy is totally getting the best of me. I recently graduated from college & have yet to land a job. It's VERY disappointing, stressful, & depressing. Stupid BUSH! All his fault. Now people are upset with Obama, spare me please!
High, reconnecting with a special person. It's been lovely.
Low, dealing with different things that have occurred in my life. I'm maintaining now & I can't complain.
High, & probably my highest of this year thus far. Is seeing another year & celebrating my birthday last month :)

Day 10 - discuss your first love and first kiss. (Wednesday)
My first love...God seriously sent him to me. A good person indeed. I have no regrets about him. Whether it's with or without...
My first kiss was when I was 16 is I can recall. I was in HS. HA! in the mall I think. Crazy.

Old Post: Falling In Love Again
12/23/2009
Have you ever been in a relationship with someone and realized how much you truly care about them? \The type of love that will make you say "I will cross the ocean for you" care (ok maybe Monica was exaggerating in that song LoL but you get the idea right?). But have you ever fell in love with the same person more than once?
You’re probably thinking, what? What are you talking about? Is that possible? Yes it is. And what I mean by this is when you get those butterflies that you gotten however long ago all over again. I fell in love two years ago. And two and a half years later I’ve found myself falling in love with my boyfriend all over again!
So you’re probably thinking “GlamChic how did you know you were falling in love with him?” Like I stated before the butterfly feeling and also the things that we’ve overcome in our relationship. The growth within our relationship has made that possible. I cherish that. As much as I hate going through the bad times, you benefit from it in the ending. If you haven’t given up and you’ve defeated every obstacle that came your way, congratulations.
Relationships are hard. No one said it would be easy what so ever. But my advice for couples out there, and I will always preach this is “Communication”. Really, its common sense but we find ourselves lacking it unfortunately. Your boyfriend should be your best friend. You should be able to approach him with no problem. This could be difficult and a challenge for some. It was for me. I wasn’t the type of person that was open and talkative right off back. It took time. And that can be a challenge for your boyfriend as well. I know it was for mine. But he has patience that I adore and he didn’t point out my flaw(s) and judge me. He simply told me that I could trust him, and he wants me to be able to come to him about any & anything.
And if there are any males reading this, it’s important to have patience with us. How we work and our emotions let alone can take control of a lot in what we do. So talk to her. Let her feel secured enough where you’ve open the door to let her and she knows she can be open with you. It’s a two way street.
And when I say “open relationship” I mean it in a sense of communication. And if you two aren’t quit there for whatever reason, take a step back and change things. Especially, if you’re in a healthy relationship, and you see this relationship going somewhere. Your relationship is not doomed. There is no right way to do anything.
I hope this was helpful and get you to thinking about certain things.
Have I fell in love with him more than once?
