Thank you! Hello! And All That Jazz...

Although it's been a week since my last...random blog post "What Bothers Me About Breast Cancer Awareness Month". I feel like it's been a month!

What have I been up to? Work, getting my mentoring program together (MY Girls), work, & blogging over on my beauty blog. I haven't had much to report about other than my protein diet that I did for a few weeks.

I'm still doing the hair challenge, I'm still happy, & still praising His name. Life is so so so so much better than a few months back. It's crazy. I mean those months seemed like 6 long, depressing months!

On a better note, I've noticed throughout the last few weeks I've gained quit a few followers. HIIIII, thank you for following me. For whatever reason, I'm glad you're here. I hope you can take something from my blog & use it in a positive way :)

I just wanted to get this post OUT THERE & properly say hello to everyone & thank you for the love & follows. I'll be checking you new people out if you have a blog that's under your profile.

I plan to talk more about my hair journey, official update on ME...my life. More so for me, & share a few projects I've been working on. I hope those that find the different things I will post, find it interesting & will support them, if not, that's quit alright :)

Have a blessed day everyone...will be posting soon!

Update [3] 2011 Hair Challenge-Going On Two Months

Yesterday (6/6/2011)  was the start of my second month of this hair challenge. I won't lie, after the big chop HERE I was discouraged. But my hair is making some great changes. I have been slacking on moisturizing my hair daily like I had promised. I guess I can state my goals here, but I'll post the products I've been using in another post.

So "Ashley what are your hair goals for the hair challenge?"

Hair goals:
-retain length
-shoulder length hair
-healthy
-maintain my curl pattern
-Use heat once a month/every other month (To check length)
-Keep my hair moisturized

I have yet to decide if I'll be posting pictures on what my hair looks like. I don't know.

Update: Closing A Chapter & New Beginnings

Here's a little update on me...This week started off really rocky. Sunday night I was feeling so down, & all I could think about was my dad. How much I wish he was here. How much I wish I could take flowers to his mausoleum etc. The next morning I meditated and talked to God. I was so eager to find his obituary. & come to find out it, that Sunday was his death anniversary. Why isn't that something I know right off top you ask? I just don't. Like I mentioned in my last post, I am now able to deal with things I wasn't able to deal with 6+ years ago. Anyways, so I was glad I was able to confront that situation.
Affirmations: I need to start back on focusing on two positive affirmations about myself a week. I've been slacking because I haven't been writing them down.

Also, I'm coming to an end for Lent (Sunday). I'm super proud of myself. This journey has been something else. I won't share all of the details because it's between me & God. But it was an interesting experience indeed.

Random tweet: So I saw this tweet that one of my followers had retweeded that described a blog post I did called "Once You're Down, Aint Nobody Around"
The tweet was: "Fake friends are like shadows, always near you at your brightest moments, but nowhere to be seen at your darkest hour"
How about that?

On to Health: Looking into joining a 30 day challenge that I can do at home. I do well when participating in challenges, so I'm back on my work out grind.

I'll be starting a 6 month hair growth for my natural hair journey. Super duper excited about this. I've been natural/transitioning for 9 months. No perms for me! & no shade to those that use them. With this challenge, I'll be more on top of things when it comes to maintaining length and a regimen.
